Chaplains and Stewards

A steward is normally on duty in the entrance lobby to welcome visitors on weekdays after 10.00 am.

Free leaflets containing a welcome message, a plan, and a summary of the Abbey's history are available at the entrance. The leaflets are printed in the following languages: -

Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish & Swedish

Chaplains are on duty in the Abbey most afternoons during the summer. They lead Prayers on the hour and say Evening Prayer at 3.15 pm. Stewards (in blue gowns) are on duty throughout the day all year round. Both Stewards and Chaplains will be happy to answer questions about the Abbey and about the Christian faith.
